The following is a list of known bugs/limitations. Please do not mail us about these.
- Editing Transfer Job entries are not saved.
- HTTP listings sometimes fails to show things, but refreshing the listing will make things appear.
- FTP listings sometimes don't appear (reproducable under 8.5). We are investigating a strange
behaviour in OT returning us "bogus" info. Use PASV to work around the problem.
- Changing the label in the Bookmark entry is not remembered.
Things that will not/can not be supported:
- All file operations other than download for HTTP. eg rename/duplicate etc.
and possibly others.

- VMS text upload/download should work properly now (fingers crossed).
- fixed a bug in HTTP resume download which often resulted in a corrupted file or one that would not resume.
- "used" disk space in FILE protocol now appears again. oops.
- dragging the "bookmark icon" at top left of window to bookmark window no longer result in a scrambled name.
- clipping kind text description no longer have garbage on the end of the text.
- listings no longer display duplicate entries after uploads (when auto refresh is enabled).
- file sizes show more significant figures again. oops. (eg 1.2M and 1.4M no longer rounded to 2M)
- fixed a bug where partial icons would not change to its "proper" icon when the transfer is complete.
- active job entries in the Transfer Jobs window no longer "drop back" into the inactive queue after one minute.
v2.0b4 (30 Nov 1998)
- Removed Hotline Support because it is less constructive for us to support non-industry standard protocols
like Hotline, than it is to support publicly available industry standards like FTP and HTTP.
- added balloon help to lots of places. Still lots to go.
- changed the application icon. You may need to rebuild your desktop to see it.
- hopefully figured out VMS text transfers, but didnt make it to this beta... probably b5.
- fixed a HTTP resume bug, "Partial Content" bug.
- s/key support tweeked to be less strict on passwords.
- hopefully fixed certain DNR problems with sites that have multiple IP's.
- added support for Apple's Keychain Mgr.
- added dragging of columns (currently MUST press Command/Apple key before dragging)
- added ability to drag top-left icon (just like in NF v1.x, bookmark icon at top right corner of widnow now removed).
This icon behaves by default like OS 8.5's icon in the title bar. With the Control Key pressed down when dragging,
you can create a bookmark of the window.
- added show/hide columns (by Control clicking on any columns button to reveal a popup menu of available choices)
- NF now saves Finder and Net window positions.
- NF now saves Bookmark List and Transfer Job window positions
- cleaned up Finder windows
- fixed some bugs in the column code
- fixed: cmd-backspace/finder move to trash: if duplicate name exists then should rename source/target to avoid error
- fixed: create new folder: doesn't update the display properly
- fixed: protocol://username@host in URL below window title
- added: allow bookmarks for file:// as its useful when dealing with many servers...
- fixed: drag let go in Finder View... signals -122
- fixed: register still throws exceptions... but succeeds.
- added: partial entries now move between the inactive and active folders
- fixed: if an error occurs when NF is in the background, the notification dialog/sound/icon now works properly
- fixed: alerts when in background now work
- updated to newer compiler... so we can add even cooler things in the near future. :)
- fixed: no longer continues with the download if the download folder setting is "ask" and
you cancelled a download now respects the "duplicate filename" options.

- added Make Alias (for non-Finder, this is the same as Make Bookmark On Desktop) and Put Away.
- added Copy URL to Clipboard for file:// (only in CM)

- downloading folders via CM now works
- locked items weren't getting operated on (eg, duplicating). Fixed.
- fixed glitch which occurred when you moved an item into a folder that was higher up in the same listing window
- Net listing windows now stagger off parent window
- you can now create bookmark files by dragging out of a 'net window into a Finder or file:// window. To do so, start a normal drag but press and hold 'control' until after mouse button is released (this was in 1.x but was omitted from 2.x until now)
- pasting URLs into bookmark Get Info windows didn't update the listing window. Fixed.
- dragging URLs to trash from the edit url view now works properly.
- bookmark lists with bad URLs in them would cause a crash when opened. Fixed.
- The NetFinder preferences folder is now called "NetFinder 2 preferences" so that you can to use 1.x and 2.x at the same time
- Now confirms quitting if a transfer job is in progress.
- no longer queues up- & down-loads since this was confusing people.
- changing the "folder icons show permissions" preference now causes the windows to update
- renaming visual glitches fixed
- fixed a possible crashing bug when closing bookmarks window.
- fixed a possible crashing bug when an upload is completed.
- fixed a possible crashing bug when using directory caching.
- added prefs for HL Nickname/Icon + "<username>[.<nickname>[.<iconID>]]" shortcut via connect dialog.
- added a possible fix that would stop causing the menu fonts to "go crazy".
- devoted more time to NF when in BG... previously way too slow.
- VMS text uploads are now using TYPE A.
- fixed a bug in the URL auto-completion mechanism.
- added s/key support to FTP.
- FTP proxy code now handles proxy authentication.
- view graphic window now zooms to "best fit" size. based on graphic size and screen size.
- removed numerous harmless Signal alerts.
- added Registration dialog in NF. For people who do not want to register online.
- double clicking a file to download when the download path is not setup, no longer gives an error -666. It now defaults to the Desktop Folder.
- fixed a bug when uploading certain stuffit archives.
- Operating on Finder items in a file:// listing using Contextual Menu commands, now works properly.
and possibly a few others...
